BMT Reliability Consultants wins Extended Support Contract

02-Apr-2009

BMT Reliability Consultants Ltd has been awarded a 3-year contract to provide technical support to Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, Försvarets Materielverk (FMV), assisting them to capture, analyse and report upon the utilisation and reliability performance metrics of a wide range of Armoured Combat Vehicle training and simulation systems located throughout Sweden.

Expanding upon the past 10 years of support that BMT Reliability Consultants have provided to FMV's Leopard Main Battle Tank and CV90 projects, this new 3-year contract has been expanded upon to include a collection of Anti-Air Combat Training Simulators (STA-Lv) and the STA-BAT, a facility offering simulated combat training for battalions and used in two-sided exercises together with the Army's laser simulators. By joining these two systems together, it is possible to conduct exercises up to battalion level whilst recording all battlefield communications and retrieving combat data from up to 200 instrumented vehicles and an additional 200 vehicle-subordinated instrumented soldiers, plus up to 50 objects (aircraft, helicopters, AD Units and targets).

Regular feedback on system usage (running time) and events (failures/defects) for all of the training systems is provided by BMT Reliability Consultants' proprietary Data Collection and Analysis System ‘RAMtr@ck'.

RAMtr@ck is an easy-to-use web-enabled system that harnesses the benefits of latest technology to deliver a unique service to defence procurement agencies, their customers, and suppliers.
