BMT Reliability Consultants extends its support to Ipeco

BMT Reliability Consultants Ltd has been awarded a contract with Ipeco Holdings to assist its Galley Insert design team by providing a detailed reliability assurance assessment during the development of Ipeco's new range of ovens, refrigeration systems, and beverage makers.
Expanding upon the past 15 years of support that BMT Reliability Consultants has provided to Ipeco on a variety of cockpit seats for civil and military aircraft, this new contract is an extension of the detailed work being undertaken to influence the design of new Galley Inserts. The identification and removal of unwanted failure modes through incorporating design changes during the early design process is recognised by Ipeco as a beneficial "design for reliability" support activity.
Earlier work has included an assessment of the thermal and electrical stresses on all the electronic components in power supplies, control systems, and display modules for the same products. The results were then compared with a derating policy to ensure that all components were being used in a manner that maximises the long term operational reliability of the Galley Inserts. Checks were also done to verify that components were chosen with a geometry that does not undermine device life expectancy.
